As of Wednesday, March 25, the Forsyth County ReStores and services related to them, are temporarily closed due to the situation around COVID-19.

We ask that donors refrain from dropping off  items at the exterior of our store or in the dumpster, as donations will be ruined by weather and Habitat for Humanity of Forsyth County will then be responsible for waste removal and incur fees, taking necessary funds away from our mission.

If at all possible, we ask you to hold on to all donations until we are able to reopen our services, as it will be vitally important for us to continue operations once the situation around COVID-19 improves.

For notification of when our operations resume, please click the orange button above and submit a request.

Our operations as of 3/25/2020 are:

Homeowners and the families we serve
Steps we are taking:

  • All education classes and YEP! activities have been canceled.
  • We have paused all repair projects due to the majority of those served through the program being part of the high-risk population.
  • We are not accepting applications for our homeownership or repair programs at this time.

How you can help:

  • Stay in touch with our Program Services team. If you have questions or concerns during this time, call (336)306-8424.

We still have a busy year ahead of us especially once the situation around COVID-19 improves. The impacts are already being felt by families, local businesses and organizations.  We urgently need your financial support to continue to address affordable housing issues through this difficult time as well as when conditions around COVID-19 improve. Please consider any financial support possible and click here to give a gift online or see other ways to give. When you give, you’ll help us continue to do more to improve the place families in Forsyth County call home.

In addition to the steps above, we have increased the presence of sanitation and disinfectant supplies and implemented more rigorous practices to help prevent the spread of illness. We are following the CDC guidelines to create a safe shared space and have instructed our staff follow protocols outlined to help protect others, including steps to follow should they or someone in their home fall sick.

Please take the necessary precautions, stay healthy, and let’s be there for one another. If you have any questions or concerns, we are here!

Simply email habitat@habitatforsyth.org or give us a call at (336)306-8424.

We will continue to monitor the situation and update our operations and best practices as guidelines change.
