What is Youth United?
Youth United is a Habitat for Humanity program that provides youth ages 5-25 with an opportunity to get involved with helping reduce substandard housing in our community. The youth are the leaders, planners, fundraisers, volunteers, and if old enough, builders.
Under the leadership of local high school and middle school students,Youth United raises money each year to fund and build a Habitat home with a local partner family in need of affordable housing!

Youth United raises money through fundraising efforts such as dances, restaurant sponsor nights, a Battle of the Bands competition, a Halloween Costume Fun Run, an ink cartridge/cell phone drive and more! Through these efforts, Youth United also raises awareness about Habitat for Humanity as well as important local poverty housing issues in our community.

Essentially, Youth United provides youth in our community the opportunity to work together to build a better tomorrow. Youth United does more than put a roof over someone's head; it allows families to provide stability for their children along with increasing their educational and job opportunities. A Habitat home also improves the overall safety, health, and well-being of its owners.

Junior Youth United is a way for elementary and middle school students to represent their school, church or other community group with Youth United. They are able to help with Youth United planning while also participating in separate fundraisers, educational, and hands-on activities for their age group. They meet one Wednesday a month.

Youth United Forsyth est. in 2003...
Since its beginning in 2003, Youth United has built 8 homes in Forsyth County and provided 8 families with the opportunity to own their own home!

The four goals of Habitat Forsyth's Youth United:

1. Involve youth in Forsyth County

2. Engage youth in Habitat's mission of eliminating poverty housing

3. Foster teamwork among diverse groups of youth

4. Develop  youth leaders
