Andrew Lane House
“The door to Habitat for Humanity of Forsyth County opened 10 years ago. I have often said it was opened by God’s grace after the tragic death of my 21 year old son, Andrew, in a car accident. Surrounded daily by people who are creating a new, more positive future for themselves, I have been fortunate to rebuild my life in ways that I could never have imagined.” Sylvia Oberle, former Executive Director
Our Habitat community helped honor Sylvia in a special way by making this house happen, which was named in memory of her son Andrew Lane. Building this house was a way to show our appreciation for all that Sylvia has accomplished at Habitat, and recognizing her many contributions to our community.
The house was dedicated on February 25th, 2017 and it was an extra special day of celebration for the Chimere Lane family, as friends, family and community members welcomed them into their future home! They were able to move into their home in March. Below are some pictures from the exciting day, along with a couple others on our Facebook page.
If you are interested in seeing pictures of the building process and those who served on site, Habitat Forsyth’s Facebook has those as well.
